By approaching this step in the process individually, it was interesting how distinct the differences between our problem statements were. However, I thought this was a great way for our group to refocus once again of the underlying scope of our project. The in-class work that we did of sharing our problem statement with a member of another team was extremely helpful, because it allowed that outside perspective to ensure that our focus was understandable to a general audience. By working on the project a large amount of time, it’s easy for my group to understand, but maybe not so much people outside our group. So, it was helpful to get an outside perspective to help reshape and refocus our project once again.
One difficulty with the in-class group work though was not being able to give a lot of context for the problem statement. Without describing the underlying focus and context of the project, it’s difficult capturing the entirety of what our project is looking at with only one sentence.
